Mei mei's afro hair

Whenever we go out with mei mei, there are always these few comments:

(1) Why so dark?

(2) Boy ah? Look like boy leh!

(3) So much hair, the hair very cute.

No wonder mei mei got afro hair, cos 有其父必有其女！

I have been very busy taking care of Vincy and Clarence is always being left out. Glad that I could squeeze some time for him the other day to do picture frame painting with him.
This is the combine effort from mummy and clarence (with idea from daddy too).

Gassy drink

Clarence went to Vivo GV to catch "Dragon Hunters" with his childcare teachers and classmates today. When he got home, he was very happy and told me about the movie.
Me: did you eat popcorn?
Clarence: yes.
Me: what did you drink?
Clarence: gassy drink! I like the gassy drink.
Oh dear, all along, we have been trying not to let him take carbonated drinks and tell him he won't like the drink. But now, he tells me he likes the gassy drink.

Accident

Mei mei is so strong nowadays. I usually put pillows around her when I put her on the bed on her tummy. Yesterday, I told Clarence to look after mei mei while I was busy with something else. She wiggled her way across the bed, pushed down one of the pillow and landed on the side table beside our bed. Clarence was the first one to discover it and he shouted for me. I was so shocked to find her struggling on the table. Thank god she didn't land on the floor. Can't imagine what will happen if she lands on the floor. So now, we cannot put her on the bed when there is no supervision. The red mark on her right cheek was the result of the fall. Poor darling, mummy is so sorry. Clarence gor gor is also very sorry. He apologised to mei mei for not taking good care of her. He even called daddy to report the whole accident to him.

NO more happy meals!

NO more happy meals from Macdonalds, at least for the time being. We have been eating happy meals for the past 4 wks so as to collect Madagascar toys for Clarence (二十四孝父母）. We can finally stop cos we have collected all the toys. This was what happened when they rolled out Kungfu Panda toys too. I really wish they won't come out with such toys for Ice age 3 next year. If not, we will have to suffer again. Not happy at all eating happy meals.

The tooth fairy

I brought Clarence to watch the musical play "The tooth fairy"on Sunday. This was his 3rd play. The first was "If you give a mouse a cookie" when he was 2 yrs old, second was "The rainbow fish" which he went with his childcare teachers and classmates this year.
We enjoyed the play while poor daddy was outside looking after mei mei.
Clarence actively participated in the play. After we got home, he wanted to brush his teeth before his nap cos he was afraid that the ugly Dr Maccavity would come to look for him if he had any bad tooth. I had to convince him that he only need to brush his teeth once in the morning which he had already done and once at night before bedtime. After showering at night before he went to bed, he asked his daddy to help him brush his teeth. This was rare.
Conclusion, for those kids who doesn't like to brush their teeth, this is one play they should not miss.

Baking cookies

Got this special promotion in Suntec City. You spend $30 and you get to bake a cookie for free. Tried it out with Clarence and he enjoyed it so much (especially the eating part).

Clarence is so sweet. He baked 2 cookies. He ate one and gave the other one to me (not to daddy) . However, once he gobbled down his car cookie, he snatched the leftover bear cookie from me! Greedy boy!

Giant and dwarf

We went to ikea on Friday night and left Clarence in the play area while we went for supper with mei mei. The ikea play area is one of Clarence's favourite cos he gets to play, draw and watch TV.



Daddy looks like a giant while mei mei is the dwarf.

Late!

Daddy took the car and cannot come home to fetch Clarence on time on Wed night. So poor mummy got to carry Vincy and walked all the way to Clarence's school to bring him home at 7pm. Poor Clarence stayed in school from 9am to 7pm.

What is this?????

Any idea what is this? Make a guess.

This is the amount of fur shed by Jewel. Shetland sheepdogs shed their fur twice a year. Boss managed to comb out this inner fur from Jewel the other night. Although so much has been combed out, I still see a lot of fur on the floor everyday. Oh my god, at this rate Jewel is shedding her fur, she is going to be botak soon!

Mummy and bottle

After one and a half week of bottle feeding Vincy once a day, mummy can also bottle feed Vincy now. She no longer hates the bottle so much or should I say she accepts her fate (认命). This is mummy's 3 rd time feeding her.

I can lift my head up!

Vincy can lift her head high up now. Her neck is getting stronger and stronger day by day.

Lift taking

When we took the lift up to go home today, a boy joined us and Clarence asked me why the boy can go home by himself. I told him because the boy was brave and old enough. I asked Clarence if he want to try taking the lift himself and to my surprise, he said yes. So we went down to storey 1 and he went into the lift with another family while I waited for the next lift to come. While the lift was taking me up to storey 12, I regretted letting him take the lift by himself. A lot of "what if" ran through my mind. The ride seemed to take forever. When the lift door opened at 12, I panicked cos I did not see him. Suddenly I heard his voice, he was already at the gate. I felt so relieved and proud of him at that instant. Well done, Clarence!

Talkative Mei mei

Mei mei has been very talkative over the weekend. Boss loves to talk to mei mei and mei mei also likes to talk to him. I can't help but smile when I see them 鸡同鸭讲. Mei mei has been trying very hard to make funny sounds. I cannot remember when Clarence starts to make all these sounds and how they sound like. Therefore, recording the sounds made by Mei mei is so precious now. Wonder how she will react when I show her the clips next time.

Clarence and gucci dog

Clarence loves dogs. Maybe it is becos he has dogs at home since young. He is never afraid of dogs, be it small ones or big ones. Sometimes I worry for him cos he will just go up to the dogs to pat them.
Gucci is Dubery gor gor's puppy. Clarence even wants to bring it home. No way, we already have 2 at home.

Vincy"s hobby

Vincy's hobby:
(1) Sleeping
(2) Being carried around, either by hand or in my sling. (I look like a kangaroo with a pouch and Vincy is the joey)

(3) Spitting out milk! Oops, she dirtied herself again! Look at the milk stain on her mouth!

Usual Saturday

Our usual sat activities:
Clarence's swimming class followed by art class then lunch. Made Clarence pose outside his art class at Suntec City before his lesson.




Clarence is supposed to design a cardboard T-shirt for lesson today.

Spoke to Clarence's chinese teacher yesterday to find out his behavior in class and was amazed to know that she taught them 三字经. She told me he can remember 4 paragraphs. Hence I went home and asked him to recite to me and mei mei.

“讲华语”运动

Clarence's chinese is getting from bad to worst. Hence, I restarted the "Speak Mandarin" campagin with Clarence a few days ago. So now Clarence must speak chinese to me and english to his daddy. However, he finds it difficult to communicate with me in Chinese. He will speak in english then I will translate the sentence into chinese and make him repeat after me. He really needs to brush up his chinese. I don't want him to be a potato when he grows up.



I asked him to recite some poems to me last night and I am glad he still remembers the poems he learnt in his childcare.
但有些字的音他还是念不准。
