Barney Show

Brought Vincy to watch the Barney show in United Square on Sunday. Clarence did not come with us cos he went out with the Chuas. Vincy was very happy when she knew we were going for the show.


The show start at 1pm but the queue was already very long at 12.15pm. So we decided not to queue. We "chop" a place outside near the railings instead. The eager girl waiting for her Barney to come out.


Wanted to bring her shopping while Daddy "chop" the place but she did not want to go with me. She said she want to follow Papa. She wanted to wait for Barney.
So mummy went shopping and left the 2 of them there:

She was very engrossed throughout the show and did not want the show to end. She wanted to take pictures with Barney after the show but we did not get the pass. Will buy tickets for Barney show next time and bring her to watch since she likes it so much.

Swimsafer Bronze

Clarence took his Swimsafer Bronze test on Sat.
Briefing by the tester:

Dressed in swimwear, shorts and T-shirts, they have to swim 1 lap.
Then they did a forward somersault in the water.

They have to swim 4 different strokes in 2 laps (backstroke, front crawl, survival backstroke and breaststroke continuously.

Clarence did not swim well for his backstroke and front crawl. His front crawl was atrocious. Coach David wanted to kill him when he saw how he swim.

So does it mean when we grow old with wrinkles, he won't love us anymore? Or we will always be handsome and pretty in his eyes.

How we spend Hari Raya

After watching Megamind in Downtown East, we brought the kids to the bowling alley. Wanted to let Vincy try mini bowling but she did not want to play so Clarence got to play the whole game. Look at his disappointed face:



Kiddie rides after that. Meimei has been there before, so she immediately took her ticket and went to queue for her rides.


We went to Courts later and the kids had fun rocking on the rocking chairs.

P1 Orientation

The whole family woke up early yesterday morning to attend Clarence's P1 Orientation at Catholic High School. We got the Orientation package in a plastic file and left Clarence with his class in the assembly hall.

There were performances by the modern dance, band and Chinese orchestra. Then came the Principal speech and the HODs brief introduction. To my surprise, there were 2 life size Elmo and Alex the Lion in the school. The kids were so happy to see them. Wow!
I am quite pleased with what they have to offer based on the presentation. We signed Clarence up for dance aesthetics (compulsory to sign up for 1 of the aesthetics)

After the speech, we pick Clarence from his class after filling in all the required forms.

Mummy also made a cheque payment of $100 (another $200 to deduct from his Edusave acc)for his enrichment classes (Eng speech and drama, Chinese speech and drama, reading supplementary materials, online learning management system and Physical Art/Music Enrichment (Wushu, PE Gymnastics, Hip Hop Dance and Vocal Training).

I thought the enrichment were well planned in the sense they put everything in rather than collect for each one separately.

Wonder if the enrichment classes are compulsory? Anyway, already paid.

Daddy said Clarence lacked kindness, so he is put in kindness class! LOL!

Then we submitted the school bus registration form and queued up to buy school uniform.

PE attire:

School Uniform: (I hate the buttons on his uniform, 7 altogether. Need they have so many? Cos the buttons must be removed before washing so that they will not rust. That also means we have to put all 7 buttons on again! So troublesome.)

Smart boy in tie: (every monday)

The uniforms were a bit big for him, his pants will drop if pulled. Oops! But that means more mileage!

(We were given 2 cards to write words of encouragement to Clarence. The cards will be given to him on the first day of school. Think Clarence will be happy to receive the cards on that day.)

I went to collect their race packs today. After dinner, I immediately made them try on the T-shirt and take pictures.

Looking forward to the run, mummy will walk with Vincy while Daddy can do the tough job and run with Clarence.

Scottish Air

Clarence was practicing his piano the other day when I walked pass, took a glance and told him the song he was playing was "Scottish Air". I told him it was a Scottish song, similar to Meimei's concert dance song.
Clarence immediately asked his meimei to dance along while he played that song. And meimei happily swayed to the tune. So cute!

Clarence's graduation concert

We went to Clarence's graduation concert on Sunday.
Think I am suffering from an overdose of performances over the weekend.

The concert this year was a bit disappointing, performances so so only and K2 parents were not given priority seats. A lot of the K2 parents were seated at the back, poor planning from MMI!

Vincy's scottish dance

We went to PLMGS to support Vincy for her first concert. Her first time on stage.



The video was short because she just stone there for the whole song without moving. She was like super "buay song" throughout. She remained motionless except playing with her tongue on stage.
During the finale, Daddy went up to take pictures of her and her first reaction was as below:

Daddy immediately moved away. Guess she was traumatised. My poor gal!

We wanted to go home initially but when I asked Vincy whether she want go out and eat or go home. She wanted to go out and eat. So we went for supper with the Chuas. My happy gal after we picked her up.
She danced for me in the lift on our way back.

Pedicure

Mummy decided to go for a pedicure today. As it was too last minute, I only managed to get an appointment at 5pm. So I brought along my kids, both Clarence and Vincy to do the pedicure. This was the first time I brought the 2 of them there. Gor gor went with me once so he was experienced and told me it was a long wait the other time.
Meimei was the 问题少女. She was so curious. She asked so many questions when she was there. Why do this and why do that......


Kept them entertained with the ipad.

But Vincy started asking for milk towards the end and became very cranky. Fortunately, the manicurist took out some biscuits and the biscuits did the job to pacify her while my nails were being blown dry. I did not blame her for being so cranky because she waited for me for 1 hr 40 mins. Wonder if she will still go with me next time?

Preview

Clarence brought his concert costume back yesterday. White top and bottom with a yellowish-golden bling bling vest. According to him, the dance is an Ethiopia dance.

Mummy is looking forward to his and Vincy's concert. This will be a busy weekend for us. Vincy's concert is on Sat, Clarence's on Sunday.

We must all say thanks to my dear, he bought an ipad for us to play. The kids were so happy with it, fighting to play with the apps.
Vincy's favourites: Tom the talking cat and Monkey Preschool. She will say,"I know play monkey." and she always looks at the expression of the monkey to see if the monkey is happy or not when she does the activities. She will sing and clap along when I play the alphabet song on the ipad.

Clarence's favourites: watching movie with the ipad in the car and playing games. His favourite games: angry bird and cooking mama.

Qi Hang's Birthday Party

We went to Qi Hang's birthday party at Little O'Zone in Orchid Country Club yesterday. This will probably be the last gathering for Clarence and his schoolmates before they go to their respective primary school next year.
