Face paint

We went back to Suntec in the morning to continue our search for Halloween costume. Thought of going back to get the $50 Skeleton costume. But we found something else, we bought face paint for $9 and Dracula teeth for $3.
Trying out at home first:
First paint the face white

Then add black colour to the eyes

The great make-up artist at work

Done! Not bad!

We are ready for the Skating Halloween Party. Daddy will paint Clarence's face at the park later!

Searching for

After swimming class yesterday, we went to Vivo for lunch and search for Halloween stuff for Clarence cos he is attending a skating Halloween party at East Coast Park today. (Mummy is praying for good weather today)
We had food at Marche and got the kids to take pictures inside this cable car.

Then we went to Toys R Us to search for Halloween costume. The selection this year was miserable or we went too late? Could not find anything suitable.
Just for fun:

So we went to Suntec to see if we can find something better. We saw a skeleton costume there but it cost close to $50. So we decided not to buy. No point spending $50 cos he is only going to wear it once.

Funny faces

Vincy likes to go to Clarence's skating class. She gets to play with her little friends and eat tidbits while waiting.
Wanted to take a picture of Kayley ferrying Vincy on the bicycle but Kaley made a funny face.

So ended up telling them to make funny faces and pose. I like Vincy's expression in this picture. So cheeky!

Oh my god, Didn't realise she has such a long tongue. She looks like a lizard!

Doll and finger

Before going to bed yesterday night, Vincy asked me to see this:

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw what she was doing. This cheeky gal tried to get her doll to suck fingers like her. Lol!

Reading

Has been getting Clarence to read a story book by himself before he sleeps. I am glad that he can and is willing to read by himself nowadays. Although I think he should have started reading to himself earlier but I console myself by telling myself late is better than never!

Now that he can read by himself, I no longer have to read to him. I just need to make sure he is pronouncing the words correctly.

Babies

After shopping in Takashimaya today, we went to mCheck Spellingy brother-in-law house to see the twins. It has been about 3 mths since we last saw them. They are going to be 4 mths old soon. Vincy was very excited to see the babies. She wanted to carry them but I dared not pass the baby to her.
Celine (the elder sister) and Vincy

Celest (the younger sister) with Vincy

Clarence and Vincy singing to Celest to keep her happy:

When Vincy came back home, she told me,'Baby don't know talk.' And she thinks the babies moving their hands and feet are "Funny". That's the exact word she used to describe their actions.

Fighting for ......

They are constantly fighting for things, from toys to my attention to ......
It is endless. Today, they fought for a seat, the seat next to the driver. So mummy had no choice but to ask them to share the seat. Vincy was reluctant and she pushed Clarence away. After some persuading from me, she then agreed.
They squeezed a little but they were happy and contented.

They were fighting a moment ago but meimei suddenly went to hug her gor gor the next moment. So unpredictable!

i Light Marina Bay

Heard from the radio about i Light Marina Bay so we went to check it out on Sat night.
i Light Marina Bay celebrates the nightscape with the use of energy-efficient lighting and creates awareness of energy-saving technology for the urban environment.
We parked the car at MBS (were lost inside for a while) and crossed The Helix Bridge to see the lights.

After walking for quite some time, we finally saw the first i Light: Digital Origami tigers.

Next one: Jellight

After taking the photos, I then realised my camera was too lousy, with flash, I could only capture the person with the background dimmed. Without flash, the pictures turned blur. Maybe it's time to invest in a better camera to capture nicer pictures.
We only saw 2 lights and we decided to turn back cos the lights were scattered all around Marina Bay and we would need to walk a long distance to see the next one. Furthermore we still have to take into consideration the distance we would need to walk back and cross The Helix Bridge to collect our car.
On the way back, we asked the kids to step on the lights to motivate Vincy to walk cos we were too tired to carry her. Our plan worked! she crossed the bridge by herself.

The kids had fun fighting for the lights:

Vincy was so happy when we caught Clarence and let her step on the lights.

Wanted to go T3 for deserts but as it was late, we went to 7-11 for Slurpee instead. We will try to go and see the other lights again but will park somewhere else next time.

New shoes

Clarence has stopped his art class at Suntec City so we went to Vivo after his swimming class and mummy bought him a new pair of shoes from Crocs. No more slipper for him! ha!
Shopped around and bought a black pair of shoe for Vincy, she needs it for her year end concert. She will be performing a Scottish dance on that day.

Both started wearing their new shoes after we paid for them.

Remedial

After 2 weeks of break from his swimming class, Clarence forgot how to swim or should I say he was too lazy to swim properly. So he had remedial session with coach David. His lesson started at 9.15am and ended at 10.45am while the others finished at about 10.15am. In the end, he did not get to play with his friends in the pool yesterday.

His shack out look:

Our explanation to him: If he swims well, he will not be ask to stay back and he can play with his friends after the lesson but if he is lazy and does not do the strokes properly, he will have to do more in the end. Hopefully, that will be a lesson learnt for him.

Extended

Clarence's piano lesson will be extended from 30 mins to 45 mins per session. Best part of the deal: fees is still the same!
The piano teacher thinks he can concentrate and is ready for a longer session. Yeah!

Crossover

Clarence did his right crossover yesterday. I must say I am quite impressed cos I dun even know how to skate and my son can master all these fanciful skills.

His left crossover is still not stable. Even he himself said he was left handed but he could not do his left crossover well. So he needs more practice!
They played games and Clarence with 2 other boys emerged as the winners. But this playful boy pretended to fall down and lie dead.

Emcee

Clarence volunteered to be the emcee for his school's year end concert few weeks ago. He was given a few lines to remember but he was not selected in the end. Although he was not selected, mummy is still very proud of him for his effort and his eagerness (he raised his hand to volunteer when the centre supervisor came into his class to select a few students for the MC audition)

Little sharks

We went Fish and Co for lunch on Saturday and the kids were given free shark caps.
Strike a pose:

Close-up:

They wore the cap in Paragon for a while. I was telling my dear Fish and Co should pay us for the free advertising service my kids provided.

Sleep alone

This little gal slept alone in gor gor's room last night!
She has this bad habit, she will wake up and cry if she sees nobody around her. So she woke up and cried at around 6 plus in the morning today. My dear went over to carry her back to our room and she slept till 9.30 am.

My mistake

Clarence got his 听写 wrong and it was because of mummy. Careless mummy taught him wrongly. He got the word 念 correctly but mummy marked him wrong and asked him to do corrections. So when he went to school, he wrote what mummy taught him and he did not get full marks. Later at night, Clarence told me his conversation with his 老师 when his 老师 told him 念 don't have the 点:
He told his 老师:“是我妈妈教我写点的。”
老师问:“是你妈妈教你的?”
Oh dear, mummy felt so malu. I will be more careful next time.
My dear burst out laughing when he hear the story and he said Clarence is very honest.

How to distribute?

My 2 kids sitting on the floor waiting for me to distribute the toys to them.

These are the 2 happy meal toys that I got just now. Problem was: Both of them wanted the guitar. Nobody wanted the keyboard.

This was their reaction when I took up the guitar and asked,"Who wants this?"

How to distribute and yet be fair? Vincy wanted the guitar so much and she looked so cute. Clarence wanted the guitar and I did not want him to feel jealous by asking him to give in to mei mei.
When I held the keyboard and asked meimei if she would take it, she shook her head and said NO.
When I asked gor gor if he would like the keyboard, this was his reaction:

So in the end, I managed to persuade meimei to take the keyboard. She just took it and smiled at me. My little angel:

The happy gor gor with the guitar he wanted:

Am I being fair? How to be fair? Why can't MacDonald just give me one blue and one pink? That will make my job easier. Blue for the boy and pink for the girl.

Puzzle

Sad to say, Vincy has always been neglected at home. She will be wondering around the house, playing her own toys or lying on her bed while I spend time coaching Clarence or surfing the internet in the evening. So guilty mummy yesterday finally 良心发现. I did puzzle with Vincy yesterday night while Clarence was doing the assessments which I assigned. I She was so happy when I told her I will do puzzle with her and kept bugging me to get the puzzle and play with her. I was surprised she pick up rather fast (which made me more guilty)

Her little accomplishment:

Will try to spend more time with her.

Reading notes

Clarence started recognising and reading some notes 3 weeks ago. Now he plays by sight reading, no more 1, 2, 3 numberings.

He has to shift both his thumbs to share the C key for this song. He found it hard initially but after practising, he is better now.

Good progress so far and feedback from the piano teacher has also been positive.

Baby slide

We went Safra Yishun yesterday evening.

Told Vincy we were taking the baby slide and she was willing to try.

I survived!

I survived a day in the Zoo with my 2 kids without my dear!
Mummy and Auntie Zann brought the kids to the Zoo on Children's Day. We brought another Clarence's classmate, Dinesh along. The 3 of them are best firends in school. So it was 2 mummies looking after 5 kids.

I carried a heavy haversack bag with all their barang barangs inside. Really missed my dear cos he is the one who will be carrying the bags when we go out.
Unbelievable but we queued up for an hour to get our lunch at KFC on that day.
Vincy was an angel on that day, she walked throughout the trip and sat down on the high chair for about 2 hrs waiting for us to buy, eat and the gors gors and jie jie to finish their water play session.
Although mummy was almost dead by the end of the trip, my kids were so happy to be at the Zoo looking at animals and enjoying the company of their friends. So it was worth it.
BUT, I will definitely go with my dear next time!
