Vincy has Chinese homework from her childcare centre on some weekends. Writing 笔画.
Doing homework:

Some homework that she has completed:

This was drawn by daddy. Need to draw out activities done on Sat and Sun.

She is able to recognise and read out some chinese words too. She is showing progress in her Chinese.

Budget haircut

Found this hair salon near my place which offer very good price for a hair cut. $3.80 per cut, regardless of length. And cut 5 times can still get 1 free. Super value for money. Clarence cut his hair there twice, mummy tried once and I took Vincy there yesterday to trim her long hair.

Blending letters

Have not been spending time on Vincy cos I am always so occupied with Clarence. Always feel very guilty. Since I am not working currently, decided to make full use of my time at home now to teach her how to blend letters and read. I checked with her childcare and they told me they will start blending letters in K1. If I remembered correctly, Clarence started blending in N2. Hence, mummy decided to teach her at home first. Started some simple words and blending with "at" words since last week. She is catching it slowly.
Recorded today:

Keep it up!

His Maths certificate for term 2.

He seems to be doing well for his Maths for the past 2 terms but these tests are only on certain topics, which means easier to prepare and score since it is not a full paper. He did 2 mock papers in school last term and his results were terrible. Manage to pass but not good grades.
I am a little worried for his SA2 paper as that will be a full paper.

Shaky tooth

Clarence has a very shaky tooth and a new tooth has already grown out. Asked him to pull it out but he was scared. Daddy pulled it out for him on Sunday. No pain.

That night, Clarence put his tooth under his pillow, wishing for the tooth fairy to come and give him something in exchange for his tooth. Daddy that night secretly replaced the fallen tooth with a $2 note. When Clarence woke up the next morning, he was happy to find the $2. A big boy now, he kept asking daddy that morning if the money was left there by the tooth fairy or someone else. Daddy told him the truth and guess what my son said? He actually wanted $10 instead of $2!

Cycling

We were at East Coast Park one Sunday afternoon for lunch. After having our claypot rice, Clarence wanted to cycle. I was hesitant about it cos it was rather hot and we were not in the right outfit for cycling but since my dear and the kids were keen, we rented this:

We wanted to ride this type of bike for a long time already. Mummy rode with daddy for about 10 minutes then Clarence took over for the rest of the hour. When I offered to take over, he said never mind cos he wanted to be 孝顺, wow!
Must admit it was very relaxing sitting on the moving bicycle without having to pedal.

The boys really perspire after the cycling exercise. Good workout!

One to-do thing strike off from our list of to-dos.

Army Open House in the City

We went to the Army Open House at F1 pit building on 27/5 with my cousin and nephew. This is the first time they hold the open house in the city. Took pictures with the different tanks exhibited.

Caught the first session of the Scenario-based Dynamic show. Show was not bad especially the red lions parachuting part.
Highlight of the day must be the oppportunity to take different vehicles in the battle ride zone.
The fast craft utility:

Clarence went up by himself cos daddy and mummy did not wear covered shoes and were not allowed to take the rides.

Next he tried the light strike vehicle.

Luckily we went with my cousin, they accompanied the kids up the rides on our behalf.

Clarence voted the light strike vehicle as the best ride for the day. It was a little fast and drove on the bumpy road.

The last ride was the Bionix:

Vincy went up the Bionix too. This was the only ride she took due to height restricion.

Did not play in the carnival zone cos it was rather crowded and we were hungry.
We are in the army!

We all think the Army Open House is much better than the Airshow. Furthermore, it is free!

Day 4 in Bali

Clarence immediately jumped into the pool after breakfast on the last day of our trip. He kept pestering daddy to join him in the pool. Vincy felt much better after a night's rest so she also requested to play in the pool too.

While they were swimming in the pool, mummy was enjoying an 1 hr in villa 4 hands massage session. This was the first time I tried a massage with 2 masseurs. Really good and cheap. After my turn, it was my dear's turn to enjoy while I babysit the kids with the help of the TV.
Daddy enjoying the 4 hands massage:

After we checked out the villa at 2pm, we took a walk in Seminyak area to kill time while waiting for the driver to send us to the airport.
Souvenirs from Bali for the kids:

We were shocked to realise we need to pay 150000 rupiah each for passenger handling fee (600000 for the whole family). Thought we already paid airport taxes and etc in our airfare. We only had 50000 plus rupiah left. So I asked if I could pay by credit card. The counter staff told us no and suggested we pay in other currencies. Told her we will pay in Singapore dollar and she said it will be $30 each in that case.  That would be $120 for our family. Daylight robbery!
Decided to go to the money changer and change instead. So we used $74 to change for 550000 rupiah. So all in all we actually just need about $80 plus instead of $120 proposed by the staff. Wonder what the money was for anyway.
We were supposed to take off at 6.35pm but the flight was slightly delayed. We only board the plane around 6.45pm. Worst was, after we board the plane, the power supply in the plane was cut off thrice and we were told to disembark. We were told later Garuda will be arranging another aircraft to fly us back. We managed to take off at about 9.15pm. We actually should be in Singapore at 9.05pm. What a nightmare! I have to take back the good comments about Garuda in my previous post. This would be our last time travelling with Garuda.
Daddy feeding Vincy panadol and we let the kids play with psp and ipad while waiting:

In the end, we reached Singapore at 11.20pm instead of the scheduled 9.05pm. Both the kids were tired and Vincy was very cranky.

Despite the 2 hour flight delay, I have to admit we had a great time in Bali. Looking forward to another holiday!

Day 3 in Bali

Woke up to breakfast on the 3rd day of our trip. Vincy trying to show us she can open her mouth Big!

Thereafter, our driver drove us to Tanjung Beona Beach for water sport activity. We found the prices for the water sport activity there rather expensive. Tried to bargain and manage to reduce the asking price by more than half after going to 2 different shops. In the end, we signed up for banana boat, jet ski and Turtle island tour. Did not snorkel cos the staff say the sea was not clear and current was too strong for Clarence.
Ready to go for our first activity:

15 minutes of Banana boat:

I love the banana boat. Both the kids were frightened by the speed. Clarence was complaining that the boat was travelling too fast. He thought banana boat moved slowly. They didn't like the sea water splashing on the faces.

30 minutes of jet ski: Our initial plan was daddy and gor gor 15 mins, then mummy and meimei 15 mins. But meimei was scared after the banana boat ride, she did not want to try jet ski anymore.

Waiting for the boys to come back:

So mummy went with daddy instead for the next 15 mins. It was fast and fun! Shiok! I love the water sport.

Visited the Turtle Island:

To our dismay, it was a very small place and it was full of tourists. The guides there will ask you to take pictures and go so that the next group can take pictures. And the way the guides kept pulling the turtles out to take pictures saddened us too. They also kept a few other animals in cages on the island.

Smaller turtles inside:

Pythons:

I did not dare to coil the python around my shoulder. They taped the pythons mouth (another act which I could not agree on).
Fruits bats:

Taking our so called glass bottom boat back. Only can see seaweeds.

Off to Nusa Dua beach for sand play:

Daddy dug a hole:

We sneaked into a hotel's infinity pool after beach play. We did not rent deck chairs on the beach cos we used the ones provided by the hotel for their guests. And we cleaned and changed in the hotel toilets.

Seafood dinner at Jimbaran beach:

We ate quickly and left cos Vincy had a fever suddenly. Guess too much play and little rest. My poor gal went without dinner and fell asleep on the couch while we had our dinner.
