Merry Christmas

Spent our Christmas with our friends at the Wong's place this year. The kids enjoyed splashing in the Wong's private pool. They only stopped when it started raining. Clarence, Isaac and Francis were having a good time together. This will be their last gathering this year before they go to the big boy school next year.

Vincy did not swim on that day as she had a fever in the morning. Anyway she was happy just watching the gor gors play.

Quality time

I have been spending quality time with Clarence this mth. I pulled him out from school in Dec and he stayed at home with me for the month. I can coach him in preparation of P1 (although very frustrating most of the time). I also brought him out to the library, watch movie and have lunch. Last Thursday, we went to United Square to hunt for his P1 bag. He chose this:

Then we went over to Novena Square for his ice skating session.

Ice again

We went to MBS to check out the new ice skating rink. The skating rink is near the food court. We had our lunch in the food court before skating.
Clarence eating his $6.80 yong tau foo noodle. (expensive food court)

The skating rink:

All ready to ice skate:

Once we stepped in, we then realised it was not ice. Felt like wax. Clarence was very disappointed. He could not skate well in the rink. He wanted to skate on real ice. Mummy enjoyed myself a lot cos it was not as slippery as real ice so it was easier for beginners like me. Later when we came home, I surfed and found out the rink was actually made from very high Molecular Weight Polyethylene. The synthetic skating surface requires more effort to skate and glide thus Clarence was depressed cos he could not skate well.

Ice skating @ Novena Square

We missed this event last year. This year, we purposely went to have our dinner at Novena Square so that we can redeem a pass for Clarence to skate there.
All geared up:

He enjoyed himself very much in the skating rink. Watch him do all the funny acts:
Ballerina

Swimming in the rink

Doing his swivel

Turn

Will go again on Thurs cos we spent and redeemed another pass.

Ikea playground

Mummy brought Clarence to Ikea playground last week so that I can go and shop around for my home improvement project. The cheeky boy waiting for his turn: While waiting, I realised Vincy has already meet the minimum height of 0.9m so that means she can go in too. The next day, we brought 2 of them there. Vincy was hesitant at first but she went in after seeing her gor gor inside. She was asking for me after a while but I was not contactable cos my hp was off. When I went back to pick them, she was fine and told me she wanted to go again. So we went again on Sat night, Gor gor was glued to the TV while meimei switched between ball throwing and watching TV. She likes the Ikea ladybug chop on her hand most. She always tells me not to wash it away. Next time daddy and mummy finally can have some free time to hold hands while they are inside the playground. Yeah!

Hard to explain

Vincy saw this picture on the shelf the other day and was very upset. She brought the picture to me and said,"I want to go!" She was upset cos she was not in the picture!
I had a hard time explaining to her why she was not in the picture. She was in my womb at that time! Had to promise her I will bring her to the Night Safari next time before she let the issue rest.

Money

Trying to prepare Clarence for P1 by going through money with him. We played pretend with fake food and real money. I was the stall keeper and he was the customer.
He had no problem when I told him the food cost 50 cents. He just gave me the 50 cents coin. But when I asked for 60 cents, he was lost. He told me he had no 60 cents. Ha!
Busy counting:

Thinking hard:

After a long time:

Conclusion: Needs more practice!

Bouncy Bounce

Vincy's childcare was closed yesterday. Hence mummy brought them to T3 to play in the bouncing castle. Did not know I need receipts for the bounce. So I went to Coffee Bean, bought drink and muffin and asked for 2 receipts cos they need 1 receipt per child.
The enthusiastic kids posing for the camera while waiting for their turn.

Listening to the instructions before the play.

When time's up, Vincy refused to come down. The poor gor gor held her hand and asked her to go but she just continued jumping. In the end, the attendant had to go up to her and ask her to come down.
Both of them wanted to jump again. So mummy went to another shop to buy something to get the receipts for them.
Queuing for their 2nd jump:

We met Auntie Catherine and her kids there.

Diaper free

Vincy is 2yrs and 3mths old now. Time to start potty training. If I remembered correctly, Clarence started around this period too.
I started her on Thursday (8/12) after she came home from her childcare in the evening. She has a few accidents here and there but she is doing well. Every time she does it correctly, she gets her good girl biscuits and she is very proud of herself when she pees in the toilet.

Adventure again!

Mummy brought Clarence to Forest Adventure again!
The brave boy!

He really muster a lot of courage to do it all again. My boy is afraid of heights and speed so it is really tough for him.
He was crying at the beginning of the first obstacle but after much much coaxing and encouragement, he tried.
Posing for Daddy to see: (all smiles)

His adventure:

After a few obstacles, he became more confident and was shaking his bum bum while waiting for his turn. This cheeky boy!

The last obstacle was the toughest for him, going down the flying fox. He was holding on tightly to the ladder, refusing to go down the flying fox. He wanted to go down the ladder instead. Faint! After what seemed like ten thousand years, he was finally down!

Nevertheless, mummy and daddy are very proud of Clarence for trying cos we know he is really very frightened. Well done!

Walking with Dinosaurs

We went to watch Walking with Dinosaurs on 4 Dec. Managed to get first row seats cos we bought early.

Initially, I only planned to bring Clarence for the show cos we were afraid Vincy would be scared of the huge Dinosaurs roaring loudly. However, Vincy told me she wanted to watch. Since it was free for her, we decided to take the risk and bring her in. If she was scared and cried, then I would bring her out and pass her to daddy.

At our seats:

Before the show started, Vincy was clinging to me like a Kola bear, stuffing her head into my chest. She changed her mind and told me she wanted to follow Daddy. I told her no. When the dinosaurs came out, she turned her head sideways to watch. After a while, she told me her neck was painful, then I encouraged her to turn around and sit properly. She was happy to see all the huge dinosaurs roaming around roaring loudly.
The show was fantastic and impressive, dinosaurs looked so real and I am glad we managed to get first row seats cos the dinosaurs really came close to us. Clarence enjoyed the show very much. He has been a dinosaur fan since young.
The big T-rex and the baby T-rex:

During the break, we went to check out the merchandise, "luckily" they only accept cash (I did not have cash with me) so I did not get anything for them (save money).
After the show, I told Vincy she was a brave gal. She was so happy to be a brave gal!

Nag

My dear bought a jacket for Vincy last week. Whenever I see the jacket, I can't help but nag at him. The jacket is very thick, the kind of woolly material inside. So it is rather hot for her when she puts it on. And as it is thick, it takes up a lot of space in the bag. Furthermore, I think it is not cheap, 50 plus for a jacket. I definitely will not pay 50 plus for a kids jacket. They outgrow it very fast. My dear has decided not to buy any clothes for Vincy again since this incident. Scared of my nagging, ha ha!
