Violins

Clarence requested to learn violin few weeks ago. Asked him why the sudden interest, he told us he watch the strings ensemble perform in his school and he thinks violin is nice. So we told him to wait till end of his SA2 before starting violin lessons. Vincy also wants to learn violin simply because gor gor is learning. Gor gor is her idol. Have already signed them up for violin classes. Both will commence their first lesson in November.
Bought 2 violins for them yesterday (3/4 size for Clarence and 1/8 size for Vincy):

As Clarence has piano and guitar background, we believe he will pick up violin very quickly. In fact, he learnt how to play twinkle twinkle little star yesterday at the shop with some guidance from the boss Mr Tong.
Not very well played but I think not bad for a first timer:

An example of how awful the violin can sound when not played well. Haha!

Another

Bought another 3 wheeled scooter sometime in August, this time for adult usage. However, both kids have been wanting to take my new scooter instead of theirs.

River Safari Visit (11Aug)

Our first visit to River Safari on 11 Aug. Thanks to my cousin, we got complimentary tickets to the park. The park is rather small (maybe because the Amazon River Quest is not opened yet) but plus point- almost the whole park is sheltered.

The main attraction: Pandas

The animal show area was quite a disappointment to us. We had to sit on the floor to watch the show but the advantage, you get to touch some of the animals.
Taken with real pelicans after the show.

How to say no to these cute panda buns?

Shangri-la Staycation 8-9 August 13

My dear got a good deal for Shangri-la Staycation. Early check-in at 11am and late check-out at 6pm for family of 4 with complimentary breakfast at The Line.
This is our 3rd staycation for the year.
Short getaway for us during National Day period:

First thing they do when they get to the room will be jumping on the bed, messing it up.

Ordered room service for lunch: cheese macaroni for them and local delights for us.

Vincy slept on the sofa at night as they could only add one additional bed.

Morning breakfast at The Line. Good spread of food.

Pictures taken around the hotel:

Splashing good time:

There were complimentary finger food and cocktails in the evening. Also had balloon sculpture, colouring contest, face painting, koi fish feeding sessions for the kids. Wow!

Big kids class

Vincy can finally join her gor gor's big kids swimming class. The swimming coach made that decision on Saturday. She will join the older kids class in November. She is very happy about being "promoted".
Took a video of her swimming then realised she actually improved a lot, she can swim a short distance without float. Well done, Vincy!

Feel loved

I dropped and lost my diamond bracelet 2 weeks ago at United Square area. I was very upset. My dear immediately drove back to United Square to help me look for the bracelet after sending us home. He walked around the area that I had been to look for it but to no avail. Really appreciate his effort.
He volunteered to buy another bracelet for me, my son asked me to withdraw money from his bank account so that he can pay for my bracelet and Vincy offered to give me her bracelet instead. So sweet of them!
Yesterday, my dear bought me a charm bracelet from Pandora. We chose the charms and I had my unique bracelet. I love it. Thanks dear!

My son again genuinely offered to pay for the bracelet at the shop.
As for Vincy, she cried at the shop cos she wanted a bracelet too when she saw us choosing the charms.

SNGS Fiesta 2013

To celebrate National Day, we had a family fiesta in SNGS. After my duty ended for the day, I went to pick up the kids and brought them to school for them to play at the fiesta.
Clarence tried quite a number of rides and games but Vincy only wanted to play archery. She preferred to stay in the air con staff room to do drawing and eat her snack.
Some pictures for the day:

Must applaud Clarence for his bravery to enter the Haunted House. He queued alone for more than an hour to go to the Haunted House all by himself. He was scared out of his wits in there but he said it was fun.
