Speech n Drama

We enrolled Clarence in Act 3's holiday speech and drama class (Journey to the Centre of the Earth 15/6-20/6). There were altogether 5 days of lessons and the presentation was on Sat.

Day 1: Dealing with disappointment
Clarence told us he enjoyed the lessons very much. When asked what character he was acting, he said he was the vines and gases. Boss was rather upset cos he wanted his son to act in bigger roles. So my boss must learn to deal with this type of disappointment.

Day 2: Break
Mummy stayed and waited for 2 hrs for Clarence to finish his lesson. I then realised there was a break in between. All the children came out for snacks and drinks but mummy did not prepare anything for Clarence, he only had a bottle of water. Fortunately the teacher gave him some biscuits. Mummy felt so sorry cos I did not read the letter properly.
He told us he was a fish today.

Day 3: Well prepared
Mummy bought milo and panda biscuits for Clarence to eat during the break.
Clarence acted as prehistoric humans today.

Day 4: Rehearsal
They rehearsed in the theatre and Clarence was the sea.

Day 5: Still rehearsal

Presentation Day:
Before the play began......

Clarence as the gas.

Clarence as the vines.

Clarence as the prehistoric human.

Took pictures with the backdrop after the performance. (Dino and teacher, turtle and volcano)

Clarence and his certificate

We were very proud of him. Considering he was one of the youngest in the class, mummy thought he performed well. (minus the part where he stole glances at us) Most importantly, he enjoyed himself tremendously.

Transformers 2

We joined the kiasu group and bought tickets ( a wk in advance) for next sunday's Transformers 2. After purchasing the tickets, we met
Optimus Prime

wow, grab the chance to take picture!

Clarence kept asking where was Bumble Bee, cos that was his favourite character.
He says he will be Bumble Bee, mummy will be Optimus Prime and Daddy will be the bad robot! Ha ha!

-15 degrees celsius

We spent a dollar to let Clarence experience -15 degrees celsius. What impressed me was his courage to go into the freezing chamber by himself.

The excited boy with his $1 receipt, waiting to go into the chamber.

Wore the jacket provided by them to keep him warm.

In the chamber:

He stayed inside for a minute and when he came out, his face was really cold but his body was warm. So the jacket they are selling can really keep him warm.

Ben 10 show

We brought Clarence to watch Ben 10 show at United Square on Wed. It was sure crowded for a weekday afternoon. The queue was super long.
The stage:

The Characters: Ben

Four arms

Wild mutt

Bad guy

The show was entertaining, mummy also enjoyed the show, but wished they could have more alien characters. After the show, there was a photo taking session. Clarence was very disappointed when he knew he could not take picutres with the characters. So mummy had to pacify him by taking a picture of daddy carrying Clarence with Four arms at the back.

We left for Clarence's holiday class after that. Guess what, after his class at 5pm. we went back to United Square again! We started queueing at 5.35pm for the photo taking coupons (to be given at 6pm). After getting the coupons, boss started to queue at 6.05pm for the show again (Shows starts at 7pm) while mummy went for dinner with the kids. Thank you boss for queuing up so early so that we can sit in the first row for the show.
We watched the show again and mummy almost puked, too much Ben 10 for me!
My mei mei sitting down on daddy's lap watching the show too.

This was what Clarence has been waiting for, photo taking with the characters. As we spent more than $60 in 2 receipts, we got to take pictures with 2 characters. Clarence chose Ben and Wild mutt.

At the end of the day, we have a satisfied and happy Clarence but very tired parents!

Safra Jurong

As my boss was on leave for the whole week, we went to Safra Jurong with the Chuas on monday to check out the place. Our first stop was the pool. The pool area was rather small though.

Boss brought Vincy along to the big bucket to wait for the bucket to splash. My poor princess got such a fright!

The monkeys fooling around.

Bathing time for Vincy. Toilet looked clean and good with warm water.

After dinner in a Japanese concept foodcourt, we chiong to Kidz Amaze, a large vertical indoor playground.
The longest slide in the playground:

The slide was really long........ We all went wow after looking at the slide. Clarence dared not go down the slide so we did not force him. Just want him to be happy and enjoy himself.
He was a little bit scared when he kept climbing upwards in the playground, so halfway up, he gave up and climbed down.
Mummy paid $2 plus to go in and accompany him. With me around, he got more daring and climbed up all the way to the top of the maze. He even asked me to go down with on on this slide.

It was a very curvy slide and the 2nd longest slide there.

I was a bit surprised when Clarence asked me to go down with him on the slide cos it was rather high and curvy. But I just went ahead and after we got down, I saw my poor son wiping tears away from his eyes. He was terrified of the speed! I then realised he had no idea the slide was so long and fast. When I asked him if he wanted to take it again, he said no. Ha ha ha! So we went to play with the other shorter slides.
Mummy had a go on the longest slide before we went home too.
My mei mei and Domi playing in the free area.

2 very tired kids sleeping in the car after such an exciting day!

Park and Prawn

We went to East Coast Park again with the same gang on Sunday. This time, Clarence skated with the adults and kids for quite some time before going off to play on the sand and in the sea.
Picture of the little ones in the tent.

After our dinner at KFC, we went back home to freshen up before we proceed to prawning. Isaac followed us home and boss showered him and Clarence and they got some time to play toys. The room was so messy after they finished playing. Faint........
Luckily the boys helped (actually were forced) to pack up before we left.
Uncle Steven taught boss how to prawn and generously shared his baits with us.

After a few minutes, boss fished his first prawn:

Look at his happy face. However the happiness was short-lived cos after that, he became "Friends of the Prawns" as his bait was always eaten by the prawns and he caught nothing for a long time.
After sometime, he realised the reason for his poor catch was because his bait was not hooked on tightly (learning from mistake).
His second catch:

Mummy also caught a prawn that night. Hee hee! So the total catch for our 2 hrs and 15 mins was 7 prawns. According to Auntie Janet, that was a good no. for a first-timer (hopefully she's not trying to console boss) .
It was quite fun to prawn (better without the kids around).
The children enjoying themselves at the prawn pond with ice-cream, bandung and chips.

Clarence tried to catch the guppies with his little net. His result: 0 catch.
Look at the happy smile on his face when he was given a prawn in his net.

Francis and Clarence trying to prawn. Clarence's result: also 0 catch.
We went home at about 12.30am that night.

Swim class in school

Clarence's swimming class in school finally resumed after so many weeks of break due to various reasons. Mummy went the other day to take a peep.
Clarence with some of his little classmates.

Father's day

Clarence's father's day card to his daddy. The ice-cream sticks was sticked together by the teacher but decorated by him. The note was written by Clarence.

The T-shirts were mummy's gift to my boss for father's day.

Jurong Bird Park

This is our 3rd visit to the Jurong bird Park. Our first stop was the Bongo restaurant for our early lunch.
The impatient children waiting to go into the bird park.

When we finished our food, the sky turned grey and started raining in no time. So we went to see the owls and penguins first as these 2 were sheltered. After that, we proceeded to Face painting. Clarence chose a crocodile.

Can't help but had to snap a picture of this girl with a butterfly painted on her face, so pretty. Must let Vincy try when she grows up.

Close-up of the crcodile

Free tarot card reading. Mummy and boss both had a go. For mummy, the cards suggest me to be more adventurous. As for boss, he has to take things a step at a time and his last card suggest anything is possible fo his future. (So mummy still got chance to be a tai tai in the future?)

Luckily, the rain stopped after a while and we could continue our excursion.
Caught a big naughty bird in the large bird cage.

We purchased tickets for the monorail ride cos it was too tiring to walk up and down the slope in the bird park.

Highlight of the day: Lory feeding. $3 for a cup of nectar to feed the lory. The lory were so friendly, they just come to your cup. Some even stretched out their claws to hold the cup while drinking.

One even landed on boss's shoulder.

How can we miss this: the man-made waterfall in Singapore.

New addition, they set up a bouncing castle. This was not around when we went last year.

After the bird park, we decided to chill out in Vivo City's Hagen Daz for ice-cream.

We broke a record for the day. We went out at 9 plus in the morning and we reached home at about 9 in the evening, whole 12 hours, with 2 pesky children!
