High up @ Singapore Flyer

We went to the Singapore Flyer on 26th August to celebrate Vincy's 4th birthday. Whenever we drove past the ECP, she would say she want to go up the Singapore Flyer. Her wish is granted on the 4th birthday.
Breakfast at the Singapore Food trail and took some pictures there too.

Journey of dreams: This is a new attraction so that the queue to the flyer will not be so boring again.

The flyer's here! Here we go:

It was drizzling when we boarded the flyer so we could not see the nice scenery but fortunately for us, the rain cleared up while we were halfway up, so we managed to enjoy the view. Photo time inside the flyer:

Vincy was a bit scared when we were in the flyer but after we alighted, she said she want to go up again.

Vincy's art

Vincy's recent colouring work:

Family camp@ Pasir Ris Park

We went camping at Pasir Ris park with the Chuas on 19/8/2012. Mummy joined in this round. This is the first time mummy is sleeping outdoors.
Arrived in the early afternoon to "choop" a good place for our tents.
Daddy was busy setting up our home for the night while the kids went off to play.

The kids played in the playground, cycled, blow bubbles, tried skating on the skateboards and played with sand. They had tons of fun!

After setting up the tent, daddy tied his hammock (his bed for the night).

 The beach boys:

Put on the lighted neck rings for them when the night is approaching.

We went to Changi for dinner then returned to our campsite. Mummy and Vincy went to Auntie Janet's place for shower before sleeping. Wash away the perspiration and stickiness with warm water, shiok!

Daddy and mummy did not really sleep well for the night. But the kids slept like pigs.
Rise and shine:

Well, I survived my first outdoor camp!

12th Wedding Anniversary

We celebrated our 12th year Wedding Anniversary yesterday night at My Humble House. The dinner was delicious, ambience was good (just the 2 of us cos we did not bring our little monsters). Rare to see my hubby dressed up in shirt and pants on weekends. He was dressed up because of the dress code at the restaurant. Strictly no Casuals allowed there.

We ordered the set dinner menu (Memories of that Spring) and started off our 2 hr dinner with an extra side dish: Wasabi prawns

1st dish: Pillow Talk (Crispy-fried Rib-eye Kagoshima Wagyu coated with Tempura Batter served in Taipan Miso and White Coffee Dressing)
Yummy!

2nd dish: Sea Breeze (Braised Superior Shark's Fin in Creamy Crab Roe Sauce accompanied with Freshly-peeled Crab Meat Wanton)
My favourite sharks fin.

3rd dish: Ocean Sunshine (Steamed Fillet of Ocean Fish with Enoki Mushrooms and Fresh Beancurd)

Refreshing Sorbet to clear the palate before the next dish.
I love the popping candies in the lime sorbet! Very unique.

4th dish: Tenderness (Pan-seared Five-spiced marinated Duck with Foie Gras served in Orange-infused Barbeque Sauce)
I cannot really appreciate this dish cos I am not a fan of Foie Gras but the duck meat and sauce was good.

5th dish: Paradise Found (Wok-based Lobster in Pickled Chilli served on Crispy Noodles)
I love the hot, spicy and sour broth in this dish.

Last dish: A sunset to Remember (Sweetened Pear with Osmanthus and Assorted Fruits accompanied with Homemade Ginseng Ice-cream)

Wonderful dinner, thank you dear!

P2 Term 3 Progress Report

Clarence held his progress report in his hand when I picked him up from school just now. He wanted to show it to me immediately cos there were no negative remarks about him form his teachers. Good that he is behaving himself in school.

Entangled

He was learning how to turn backward and then forward on the rod. Got himself entangled in the end.

He learned the trick to it the next lesson.

Cycling

I bought a 2 wheel bicycle for Clarence in June 2010 and practiced with him twice or thrice that year. Then the bicycle became a white elephant at home until recently we took it out again and went down to practice. He finally mastered the skill to cycle after 2 practice session this year. He felt so happy when he could cycle on the 2 wheel bicycle.

Vincy surprised us by being able to cycle the bicycle with training wheels cos we did not teach her at all. Think she learnt  it in her childcare.

Growing up

My son is growing up! He is beginning to like to listen to pop music and sing along. A new song he learnt recently in his guitar class.

Not singing very well but good try for the coordination.

Sleep with the Beasts Camp (9-10 June 2012)

Mummy signed Daddy, Clarence and Vincy up for Sleep with the the Beasts camp on 9 and 10 June. I did not go along cos I am not so adventurous (prefer to sleep in air con room and soft bed). Kids were very excited about the camp. But daddy was not so keen, it was hardship camp for him.
Reported to the Zoo in the afternoon:

They had their briefing and left their barangs in the auditorium. Clarence with some specimen.

After the briefing, they took a tram ride to the Fragile forest. Butterflies were attracted to daddy. Reason being: my dear's shirt was bright in colour, butterflies were attracted by the colour.

However, my son really embarrassed the daddy. He told everyone the butterflies were attracted to daddy because daddy had armpit perfume. That's not all. When others ask him why mummy was not at the camp, he said it was too expensive. Damn malu for daddy.

They went behind the scene and got the chance to touch some creepy crawlies.
Clarence dared to touch everything, Vincy dared not touch at all.
Caterpillar:

Hissing cockroach:

Giant millipede:

Taking the boat ride to Hamadryas baboon guided tour and feeding. According to my dear, the feeding was pathetic cos each one was only given half a banana to throw to the baboons. Vincy wasted hers as expected cos she threw it into the waters.

 Tent pitching:

They went for buffet dinner and made a trip to the Night Safari for the tram ride and caught the Creatures of the Night show (VIP seats for them).
Campfire:

Both of them learnt how to sing and do the actions of some songs from the campfire.

Sleeping time after shower:

The next morning, they woke up and went for Jungle Breakfast with wildlife. Clarence got to touch some snakes there.

Picture with the Orang Utans:

Behind the scene again:

Touching a lizard:

Both of them enjoyed the camp very very much. Clarence was very intrigued by all the behind the scene and secret entrances where he don't get to go in usually. Till today, they are still asking us to bring them to the zoo camp again. Clarence even wanted to stay for 2 nights.

Stands

I am impressed by my kids. They managed to do headstand and handstand in one lesson. Well done!
Vincy took a slightly longer time to master her headstand but I am proud of her cos she did not give up trying and finally learn the trick to do it.
