Chinese New Year Day 2

Day 2 was spent at 2nd and 3rd Uncle's place.
Mummy and daughter wearing the same design Qipao! I just love to wear the same clothes with my girl.

Vincy with her hair tied up, playing with cooking toys from 2nd Uncle's place and sitting on a rocking chair in 3rd Uncle's house.

Gor gor in his Chinese traditional costume. He only wore it for less than half and hour before he took it off and ran around topless cos it was simply too hot for him with the high collar and long-sleeves. He will wear it for Racial Harmony Celebration in school a few months later. (hopefully he can still fit into them by that time)

汤圆

Vincy brought 汤圆 back from school on Friday. Her first product from the cookery class in school. I wondered what is the brown patch of thing in the container. Initially, I thought it was the filling inside the 汤圆。After I read Auntie Janet's blog, I then realised that that was actually supposed to be another 汤圆. Ha ha! Her second one went completely out of shape.
We were not so adventurous so we did not try and cook and eat it.

Chinese New Year Day 1

First stop for our Chinese New Year visiting on Day 1 was my mother-in-law's place. This year, I dressed my kids up as Koreans.
Look at Vincy in her korean costume!

The spendthrift mummy also bought a set of Korean costume for Clarence too. I think they look so cute in the costumes!


This picture of my darlings kissing was taken sometime in Dec, when they tried on the costumes.

Vincy vomited during lunch and we had to wash her clothes while she took a short nap. When she woke up, I went to carry her and she vomited again, this time on me.
So we went back home and washed the clothes while Vincy slept. After she woke up, we gave her milk and changed back to our New Year clothes (thanks to the efficient dryer at home).
Vincy vomited again in the car on our way to my mum's place. Fortunately I brought along a small bucket and managed to contain all her vomit inside.
Vincy was very cranky and refused to mingle around at my mum's place.
Towards the evening, she got better and was willing to walk around. We were so relieved.

Mummy changed her into another set of traditional chinese new year clothes at night.

How can we spent Chinese New Year without playing blackjack. And judging from the pictures, one can tell my dear was the banker.

It was a rare time for all of us to gather and we really enjoy the company of our relatives.

Our reunion dinner

We had our reunion dinner at my mother-in-law's place on the eve of Chinese New Year.

After dinner, Clarence played with his cousin. They had fun playing with a box which was actually used to store toys. They managed to squeeze themselves into the box and then play falling out of the box. Well, creative play I would say.

After much coaxing, we managed to get Vincy into the box too, to experience the fun.

Then it is gor gor and meimei in the box together!

Scary room!

Clarence's version of a scary room!

He drew this after a story reading session about a scary room with the art teacher.

Shower preference

Since Vincy went to school, she prefers me to do everything with her and she only listens to me. She sticks to me like glue.

Vincy's work

I was surprised to see so many workbooks in Vincy's bag the other day.

Take a look at my little artist's great work.

I like the number collage done in school. They let the children explore with different materials.

I feel that Vincy's school offer more value for money than Clarence's school. When Clarence was in playgroup at 19 mths, I do not see so much work done in school as compared to Vincy and Vincy's school fees is much cheaper than Clarence's. Glad that we made a right choice in sending her to Lovingkids.

Trying hard

Vincy found my shorts on the chair and she tried to put on the shorts. I guess she observes the big children in her childcare and wants to imitate.

Frog

Clarence made a frog using paper plate. The tongue can even move from side to side. I am impressed! I can never think of such ideas and I am no good in art. Whenever Clarence asks me if I know how to draw certain things, the answer from me is usually No. I will always refer him to my boss who is more artistic than I am.

Same same

I love to wear the same clothes with my daughter!
I bought another set of same top. I wore it as a top but Vincy wore as a dress. It can be converted to a top when she grows older. This is the 3rd set of same clothes that we have!
My boss says the clothes look nicer on Vincy. So jealous but I think so too!

We wore this set to attend Dubery's birthday celebration two weeks ago.

No prize for guessing it correctly, although mummy doubt anyone will get it correct (sorry son!) Clarence drew a panda! Dun look like one to me, maybe because of the colour combination but then kids are supposed to be creative so I cannot tell him to colour the panda black and white. Must learn to appreciate Clarence's creativity!
