Mummy signed Daddy, Clarence and Vincy up for Sleep with the the Beasts camp on 9 and 10 June. I did not go along cos I am not so adventurous (prefer to sleep in air con room and soft bed). Kids were very excited about the camp. But daddy was not so keen, it was hardship camp for him.
Reported to the Zoo in the afternoon:
They had their briefing and left their barangs in the auditorium. Clarence with some specimen.
After the briefing, they took a tram ride to the Fragile forest. Butterflies were attracted to daddy. Reason being: my dear's shirt was bright in colour, butterflies were attracted by the colour.
However, my son really embarrassed the daddy. He told everyone the butterflies were attracted to daddy because daddy had armpit perfume. That's not all. When others ask him why mummy was not at the camp, he said it was too expensive. Damn malu for daddy.
They went behind the scene and got the chance to touch some creepy crawlies.
Clarence dared to touch everything, Vincy dared not touch at all.
Caterpillar:
Hissing cockroach:
Giant millipede:
Taking the boat ride to Hamadryas baboon guided tour and feeding. According to my dear, the feeding was pathetic cos each one was only given half a banana to throw to the baboons. Vincy wasted hers as expected cos she threw it into the waters.
Tent pitching:
They went for buffet dinner and made a trip to the Night Safari for the tram ride and caught the Creatures of the Night show (VIP seats for them).
Campfire:
Both of them learnt how to sing and do the actions of some songs from the campfire.
Sleeping time after shower:
The next morning, they woke up and went for Jungle Breakfast with wildlife. Clarence got to touch some snakes there.
Picture with the Orang Utans:
Behind the scene again:
Touching a lizard:
Both of them enjoyed the camp very very much. Clarence was very intrigued by all the behind the scene and secret entrances where he don't get to go in usually. Till today, they are still asking us to bring them to the zoo camp again. Clarence even wanted to stay for 2 nights.
