Vincy's ballet update

Last minute open house for parents to view their kids in the ballet class on 1June. It has been a long time since I last went in to see Vincy's ballet class. Took the opportunity to go in and was happy to see her progress.

Chinese Cultural Camp

Clarence joined the Chinese Cultural Camp organised by his school in the June holidays. It was a half day camp. He got to paint chopsticks, drew chinese comic, paint a chinese fan and wrote a poem on the fan.

Clarence VS Daddy (Velocity Beach Rush 2013)

We walked past Velocity on 1 June and saw people playing inside the Velocity Beach Rush. We found that it was FOC that morning since there was no crowd (actually need to pay to play normally). Clarence was gamed enough to try so off he went. At the first station, Clarence need to stand on the pole, balance and kick the ball in but it was too difficult for him. Daddy was complaining about how lousy Clarence was so he was invited to attempt too. Hence, daddy was in the game. Very sporting father and son.
Gearing up:

Clarence VS Daddy:

Super hard station.
Watch how my dear struggled:

Only Clarence tried this. Need to rearrange the items exactly like the one on the side with the rubber belt pulling you back.

The most interesting segment in the game: Being a hamster in the water!

Clarence was better than Daddy in this.

His first try:

Got the hang of it, so much faster in his second try:

Balancing on the machine operated wave board: Both failed badly. Hahaha!

Another game: shooting the bird. Only Clarence tried this.

Both father and son were wet after the beach rush challenge. As they did not have spare clothes to change into, they sat on newspapers in the car to avoid wetting the seats.

Energizer 3km Obstacle Race

Daddy signed himself and Clarence up for the Energizer 3km Parent and Child Obstacle Race. Luckily Vincy is too young to qualify for the race, hence mummy is spared.
Free LED head-lamp in the race pack (more for night trail usage):

On actual day (4 May 2013), run is in the late afternoon.

Waiting at the starting point for flag off by batches:

The obstacles they faced:

All sweaty, dirty and muddy after the 3km obstacle course:

Both said the run and obstacle course was fun.
The poor ones (with their gor gors' medals) who do not get to participate this year:

The carnival for this run was good. Free drinks, fruits, ice-cream and games. We all agreed that it was really value for money for this run.
Bull ride after the run:

Perhaps mummy will try the run with meimei next year???

Haze

We just came back from Clubmed Bintan on Wed and were shocked to be greeted by the haze in Singapore. The haze was not that bad before we left Singapore and it was ok in Bintan. The haze in Singapore was much worse than in Bintan. My dear went back to work yesterday and he got a free mask from his company. He bought 3 masks for us and this is how we look with the N95 masks:

We have been blasting the air con in the living room and bedroom for the past 3 days to fight the haze.
Meimei in jacket this morning while eating her breakfast cos she was feeling very cold in the air conditioned living room.

As I am typing this post, the PSI went down to normal and haze is clearing. Hope the blue sky is here to stay!

Microphone

This video was recorded in April while my dear was away in China for business trip. We got a microphone from my dad hence Clarence tried to sing with the microphone with a little help from his little sister.

Sentosa Staycation March 2013

My dear booked a 3D2N staycation for us in Sentosa during the March holidays.
Day 1: Adventure Cove Waterpark.
Paid for feeding the rays experience for Daddy, Clarence and Dubery.
Clarence enjoyed feeding the rays very much although it requires a lot of patience. The rays will not come to you if you move. You have to squat or bend down and remain motionless, holding the fish, sotongs and prawns and wait for the rays to come to you.

Our favourite: the Bluwater Bay, waves and more waves!

We checked in into Equarius Hotel in the afternoon. The hotel exceeded our expectations. It is a new hotel, nicely decorated and the room and toilet are big.
After lunch, we went to the SEA Aquarium. Took some pictures with the exhibits before entering the aquarium.

Day 2: Universal Studio Singapore

Tried out the new ride in Sesame Street: Spaghetti space chase. A kiddish ride but Vincy liked it a lot so we took it thrice.

To our surprise, Vincy is tall enough for the Transformer ride. Although she was scared and crying, we still dragged her in. Her head was down almost throughout the whole ride so she did not really enjoy or know what was happening at all.

Our first time taking the Jurassic Park rapids adventure ended with Daddy all wet while we remained dry. He was plain unlucky, sitting at the wrong side.

The kids slept on inflatable mattresses which we brought along.

Vincy enjoying herself in the bathtub.

Good break for all of us!

Track and Field training

Clarence went to school with me during the March holidays for my CCA duty, Track and Field. He was invited by the coach to train with the girls. He was hesitant and shy at first and kept sticking to me cos he was the only boy there but he was fine after a while. This was his first time trying out track and field. His school does not offer this CCA.
Learned how to get into the "On your mark" position:

Competing with the gals:

First time trying out long jump:

He was all sweaty after the 2 hour training. Good exercise for him.

Into pop songs

Clarence is very into pop songs since a few months back. He requested for his piano teacher to teach him "Kiss Goodbye" by Lee Hom in March. He learnt how to play accompaniment for the song.
Video recorded on 17 March:

Vocal trial class (17 March)

Clarence requested us to send him for vocal training class cos we always laughed at him when he sang out of tune.
His trial class:

I sat in with him during the trial class and actually expected him to call it quits after that but he told me the class was ok and he wanted to learn. So we signed him up and his actual class has started in April. So far so good, he made some improvement, not so monotone and out of tune now.

Balloons

Were at Marina Square on 16 March and saw this theme park created with balloons at the mall. So creative and so much effort in these exhibits.
